Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health Graduate Certificate

The Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health Certificate is a graduate-level certificate designed for social workers wanting to develop their practice in the area of Aboriginal child and youth mental health, with a focus on working in northern and remote communities.  The courses in this program may also be useful for people from other educational backgrounds who want to increase their knowledge around Aboriginal issues.

Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration allows professionals to learn classroom theory with real-world action beyond the classroom and provides practical skills.  This program  exposes students to big ideas, life experiences and valuable insights, and allows students to work while you learn.  Students can earn their MBA in just 21 months.

 

Master of Education

The graduate studies program in Education is responsible for the preparation of professional educators who may pursue advanced study at the doctoral level and/or advanced professional employment. Master's level programs advance students' knowledge to the point of mastery and also prepare students to demonstrate that they are capable of advancing the knowledge of their disciplines

Master of Engineering Integrated Wood Design

This one year course-based program develops students’ skills in understanding wood as a versatile and sustainable building component that can be used in applications far beyond what could be achieved using concrete and steel.

 

Master of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies

The MNRES is an interdisciplinary degree offering students the chance to undertake research that crosses science and social science/humanities boundaries or that is outside the normal scope of the MA or MSc. Students complete either a research based thesis or a project which allows more applied research opportunities.

Master of Social Work

The Master of Social Work program is available on a full or part-time basis and may be completed through a thesis or a practicum route. The MSW builds on the BSW by offering students integrated research, policy, pand practial experience, ceontranting on one of the key thematic areas: social work in northern and remote areas, First Nations, women and the human services, and community practice and research. 

 

PhD in Health Sciences

The PhD in Health Sciences offers students the opportunity to develop an advanced level of understanding and training in any one scientific discipline, or a combination of scientific disciplines, related to human health, the processes (e.g. sociological, biological, chemical, physical) that influence human health or the organization and delivery of health services.

PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies 

The PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies [PhD(NRES)] offers students the opportunity to develop an advanced level of understanding and training in any one or a combination of scientific discipline(s) related to natural environments, the processes (e.g., biological, chemical, physical) that govern them, or the human dimensions (e.g., social, economic, political, cultural) that interact with them. 

    

PhD in Psychology


The PhD in Psychology at UNBC provides breadth in the substantive and methodological areas of Psychology, with a focus on health and human psychology. The PhD provides advanced research and experiential training so that graduates gain skills beneficial to academic and related areas.
